Founded in 2015 in Austin, Texas, by studio drummer Ramy Antoun and master craftsman Steve Furcinitti, A&F Drum Company embodies the revival of high-end artisan drum making. A&F, which stands for Antoun & Family (or Antoun & Furcinitti), is much more than just a drum brand: it is a philosophy where each instrument is designed as a functional work of art, meant to last for generations.
What sets A&F Drum Co. apart is its absolute commitment to entirely handmade manufacturing. Every component — shells, lugs, hoops, kick drum spurs, tom legs, mounts — is hand-machined from raw metals (brass, copper, steel, aluminum) and fine woods, directly in their Austin workshop. The brand's motto, "Simple Design | Practical Application | Brilliant Sound," perfectly summarizes their approach: clean design, practical application, and brilliant sound.
A&F Drum Company offers a range of unique series, each with its own sonic and aesthetic personality:
At A&F Drum Co., every drum is handcrafted by skilled artisans, in collaboration with professional drummers. The brand uses archaic construction techniques combined with modern innovations to create instruments with a unique sound. The raw metal shells in particular are a recognizable sonic signature.
All components — from lugs to mounts — are made in-house from raw materials, which explains the brand's high-end positioning. As the company puts it: "We chose to manufacture drums by hand from raw metals and wood, using locally sourced materials and hiring local drummers and craftsmen in Austin, and it is definitely expensive."
Ramy Antoun, the company's president, began his career as a studio drummer in Los Angeles in 1996. His "hundred-year plan" for A&F Drum Co. is to create instruments that will become family heirlooms, passed down from generation to generation. This long-term vision is reflected in the impeccable build quality and choice of sustainable materials.
Today, A&F Drum Co. counts thousands of passionate drummers worldwide, an active social media community, and unanimous recognition from professional drummers and specialized magazines. Whether you are a discerning collector, a demanding studio drummer, or a passionate musician seeking an exceptional instrument, A&F Drum Company offers you much more than a drumset: a true musical heritage, handcrafted in the heart of Texas.
