The Origins
Founded in 1999 by two brilliant engineers from INPG, Frédéric Brun and Gilles Pommereuil, Arturia emerged at a time when computer-assisted music was beginning to gain popularity. From the start, the company had a clear goal: to faithfully reproduce the characteristic sounds of analog synthesizers of yesteryear. To achieve this, Arturia developed a proprietary algorithm called TAE (True Analog Emulation), which captured the very essence of these legendary devices.
The Modular V, Arturia's very first virtual synthesizer, was born out of this passion. The result of a collaboration with Robert Moog, a pioneer in analog synthesizers, this product marked the beginning of a series of innovations. Timeless hits like The Beatles' "Strawberry Fields Forever" and Michael Jackson's "Thriller" used sounds similar to those reproduced with impressive fidelity by the Modular V.
Expansion into Hardware
While many could have been satisfied with this initial success, Arturia pushed innovation even further. In 2009, the company introduced the Arturia Origin, marking its entry into the physical synthesizer market. The adventure was just beginning.
